THE MASAI MARA

I've always said if tents had beds and bathrooms I'd go camping. Well, in Kenya I stayed at the Mara Safari Club, a deluxe tented camp. The permanent tents had floors, beds, bathrooms and hot running water. I was a happy camper!

From the camp, we went out on game drives and saw truly spectacular wildlife: lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, zebras and much, much more. We visited a Masai manyatta (village) and saw how the Masai live.

When we got back to camp there was time for a hot shower before dinner, and we went to bed to the sounds of hippos snorting in the Mara River that wrapped around our camp.
