Lion, the Serengeti Lions, cheetahs, elephants, monkeys... some almost close enough to touch. This was the experience in Tanzania when my husband Terry, our friend Connie and I went on a photographic safari in November, 1998.

Tanzania has some of the most famous game reserves in the world, and their fame is well-deserved. We visited Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater.

We went on a British Airways' Affordable Africa tour. These tours are not the most luxurious trips available, but they offer a comfortable and reasonably-priced way to see one of the most wonderful parts of the world.

Mt. Meru, Tanzania We flew to Nairobi via London and drove in minivans from there to Tanzania. It's a long drive, but there are many interesting views of the people, towns and countryside along the way, and we made sufficient stops for shopping, lunch and stretching our legs.
