Below are some questions Eliza has received from her fans, and her answers.

A word from Eliza:
Hello out there... I want you to know how much I am enjoying getting these e-mails with all your support and good wishes, and even though I can't answer every one it means so much to me to hear all this from people. Thanks a million... see you soon, Eliza.

Q: Hi Eliza, I saw you play recently in my little town of Olympia, Washington. I bought three CDs, thinking that the first song you played was on one of them. But, alas, it was not on any! For all my searching I can't find the song (I don't remember the title). I wonder if you might be able tell me the title and perhaps the CD it's on. I loved the song, because it was beautiful for all women and so perfect for my life right now--strong woman, alone but feeling good. I remember the refrain being something like "I'm alone, but I'm not lonely." I'd love to buy the CD. Can you please help? I know it's not a lot of information, but I figure you'd be the person to ask. Thanks ahead of time for your time. I really enjoyed seeing you play. I hope I get your schedule of events--particularly if you're heading up here again. Sonja
A: That song was"Not Lonely", and it is on the new CD, out in March .Thanks.

Q: Eliza, I love the song Prodigal Son from the Mark Rashid video, it is such a perfect theme for horse lovers. Will it be coming out on the new CD? Thanks, Lisa
A: No plans to record it, but I love Mark Rashid's work.He really helped me.

Q: I think that "Persephone" is a prototype of a perfect song--just one of those things that one comes across not often. Tell me, please--how can I find the chords? So appreciated (for the song and for the info). Miriam
A: We didn't put that one in the songbook, but if you drop your low E string down to Dand put your capo on the 2nd fret you can play along with me and figure out that descending line. Chords are basically D, C and F with descending line moving around on the dropped D. Make sense? Hah!

Q: Eliza: I love your song "Mama's Got a Boyfriend." I am a beginning bass guitar player and I really would like to know what bass notes are played on that song. Is this on a 4 or 5 string bass? If
you could give me an idea of the main bass notes or the guitar chords, maybe my husband could figure out the song for me. Thanks much, Bev Clark, Iowa... where we met you and got introduced to your music, which we really, really like.
A: Tell your husband to tune his guitar to an open C tuning with the high E string tuned down a halfstep to E flat, making it an open C minor tuning. Then fret around the neck for the chords to that song... it's easy that way.

Q: Hi, Eliza. My name is Cherie Watson and I am a resident of Australia. My father heard a song called "Peace Call" sung by a man who you did a concert with, and now he loves your music. I was wondering if you will ever be recording that song and if you will ever venture to Australia? Regards, Cherie Watson
A: Want to come to Australia. I know I would love it--I'm good friends with your Bill Chambers, and we talk about figuring a way to get there. Meanwhile that song is "Peace Call," by Woody Guthrie, and is on the new CD as a quartet with me, Patty Griffin, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Iris DeMent. It's awesome, a real vote of solidarity for the peace movement. Thanks.
